Estate Planning in an Oregon Divorce: Mediator Matthew House, J.D.

Divorce will likely require you to make some changes to your estate planning. However, divorce is a common impetus for people to create a will or trust for the first time, as many of Matthew's divorce clients do not have wills or trusts.

Wills and trusts will probably have to be redrafted.  Some of the changes may need to happen before the divorce if they affect how the property can be distributed.  Other changes need to wait until after the divorce is finalized. Matthew will discuss requirements and recommendations.

Matthew does not personally draft wills or trusts, but he can refer you to an attorney specializing in that practice area.
Matthew House is the only metro Portland mediator who has:a law degree and 20 years of experience as a mediator, Parenting Coach, and mentor providing free services to pre-teens, teens, and young adults; seven years as a K-12 educator; training as a Family Law Financial Analyst; and a Notary commission.
