- You may have more than one option for your post-divorce tax filing status.
- Different factors can influence which options may be available to you.
- Matthew will explain the options you may have.
- If you are finishing mediation after mid-October, or if you begin mediation in August or later, it may be helpful to determine whether it is better to finalize your divorce in the current tax year or wait to file at the beginning of the next tax year.
- Depending on how long you have been separated prior to mediation, your options for tax filing status may be different. Matthew will discuss the details with you.
