Divorce Mediation Fee Discounts:
Matthew House Has Lower Fees and More Services
Than Other Portland, Oregon Divorce Mediators
Discounts of up to $150 are offered at the initial consultation.
Delay puts divorce mediation at risk of never happening. You never know how long the other party will be willing to come to the negotiating table with you, and the other party faces the same risk. Matthew encourages people to act decisively while both parties are in agreement. If you decide at your consultation, as almost all clients do, that you want to pursue the divorce mediation process with Matthew, the following discounts will apply to services rendered after the consultation.

If you decide at your consultation, as almost all clients do, that you want to pursue the divorce mediation process with Matthew, the following discounts will apply to services rendered after the consultation.
- If you prepay the entire anticipated cost of the remainder of the mediation process at the time of the initial consultation, you will receive a discount of $200. Your total payment at the time of the initial consultation would be $1,640 (if you do not have minor children) or $2,040 (if you have minor children): $140 for the consultation and either $1,500 or $1,900 for the mediation process, after the $150 discount is applied.
- If you prepay the entire anticipated cost of the remainder of the mediation process at the consultation and you end up needing additional time, or if you have had phone calls or emails to Matthew between sessions, the fee for that additional time will be billed at a 15% discount.
Benefits of prepaying divorce mediation services from Matthew:
- The financial savings will make mediation services even more economical as both parties look for ways to trim their budgets and streamline their overall expenditures.
- Both parties can be more assured that the other party is dedicated to the process and is far less likely to withdraw after making a financial commitment.
- There will be no need to argue with the other party about who is responsible for mediation fees.
- If you have prepaid the entire amount of the anticipated fees for your mediation process, a more flexible rescheduling policy applies:
- You may reschedule an appointment without additional fees charged as long as you provide at least 24 hours of advance notice. Clients may reschedule a total of three appointments in the mediation process on those terms.
- If you must reschedule without providing at least 24 hours of advance notice, only one hour (instead of the full two hours that the session would have been) will be subtracted from your remaining allotment of prepaid mediation time.
- If you are late to arrive, don't worry. As long as you arrive no more than 30 minutes late, Matthew will build time into his schedule to provide your full two hours of session time, starting from the time you arrive,
- Prepaid hours do not expire and can be used even after the divorce is finalized, if modifications are desired at a future date, as is often true of families with minor children, particularly young children.
- If Matthew's hourly rate increases in the future, or if fees are implemented for services now provided at no cost, you will not be billed for those fees or increases if you have prepaid your entire original mediation process. You will also receive today's hourly rate regardless of how many hours you may use in the future. All present and future mediation services will be billed at today's rate, which will include the discount.
